In Colossians 4:12, we see Paul describe Epaphras as 1st a “servant” of Christ Jesus followed by him “wrestling in prayer” for those believers in Colosse.

This verse gave all new understanding to my verse for the day. Just a few short verses before this one.

“Be wise in the way you act to outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so you know how to answer everyone.”

Colossians 4:5-6

The way in which we prepare to allow our conversation to be full of grace is revealed by our consistent and devoted commitment to praying “fervently” or “wrestling” in prayer!

No lukewarmness or ambiguity welcome….. no highlight reels….

Graceful speech is not necessarily void of “stern” words, that can challenge and oppose false believers who are enemies of Christ. (Check Galatians 1:9)

This is how Paul describes the Holy Spirit’s posture inspired by righteous anger that is justified toward others who try to distort the original gospel.

Also reference, Matthew 23:13 where Jesus seems to share the same truth for us to recognize. The intention and ownership of wrestling in prayer is a Physical representation of our surrender to the power and righteousness of God’s holy Word!!

Father God, we pray that we will remain in persistent and deliberate prayer. For I have fallen short of this on many occasions. However, through the power of Christ in me, may His power be magnified and my surrender be given freely and without hesitation Lord. Father God, thank you for these men that You continue to pour into to fill our cups. We may use these moments to identify where we need You most and grow in our understanding and living as Christ through His Spirit which dwells within us. We pray and ask this in Jesus’ Holy name! Amen!

Hallelujah!!!! 🙏🏻

Shalom men!

Together, we can change the world
